The following duties are intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

1. Diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing radar and positioning systems.
2. Working with the Engineering department to adapt or modify equipment to meet customer’s requirements.
3. Performing preventive maintenance inspections on equipment and to determine what maintenance is needed.
4. Researching and ordering replacement components and spare parts for radar and position control system.
5. Utilize safe rigging and lifting techniques.
6. Setting up and testing various types of electronic equipment to determine equipment specifications and performance.
7. Recommend improvements to maintenance methods, system and equipment performance as well as operational efficiencies.
8. Analyzes work problems and recommends solutions.
9. Train and mentor subordinate technicians
10. Follows all OSHA Safety Regulations.
11. Safely utilizes various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide efficient solutions.
12. Maintains a strict schedule in order to successfully complete assignments on time.
13. Other duties as assigned by Lead Technician, Management or Supervisor.
14. Basic experience in operating, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation radar systems (from HF to microwave frequencies up to Ka Band).
15. Must possess extensive working knowledge and technical experience in utilizing schematics, diagrams, and appropriate test equipment to solve analog and digital electronic problems as well as in motion control systems (Turntables , Rotators and Antenna positioning and control )
16. Basic experience in the set up and measurements of Electronic and Microwave systems and components.
    1. Antenna alignment and basic antenna gain measurements.
    2. Measurements of Radar Parameters ( PRF, PW, Duty Cycle, Transmit Receive Polarization)
    3. Power and performance measurements of High power amplifiers (TWTA, Klystron, Solid-State)
    4. Power and performance measurements of Low noise and general purpose amplifiers
    5. Solid state switches (high and low power and frequency)
    6. RF and microwave passive components
    7. Coaxial Cable and Waveguide
    8. Digital logic and circuitry
    9. AC and DC voltage, power and components
17. Basic experience in setting up operating and performing measurements with test equipment.
    1. Spectrum Analyzers
    2. Signal Generators/Synthesizers
    3. Vector Network Analyzers (to include full 2 port calibration)
    4. Fiber Optic Loss and Time Domain Reflectometer Instruments
    5. Oscilloscopes
    6. Standard voltage and power measurement instruments
18. Must possess Basic computer knowledge of;
    1. Windows 7 Operating System.
    2. Microsoft Office.
19. Must be able to use and understand the following disciplines of math and their applications;
    1. Basic Algebra
    2. Basic Geometry
    3. Elementary Statistics
       1. Mean
       2. Median
       3. Variance
       4. Standard Deviation
    4. Basic Trigonometry
    5. Basic knowledge of the Radar Equation
20. NASA Certified soldering skill.
21. Knowledge of installing and maintaining electronic systems, chassis and components.
22. Basic experience assigning work and directing other employees to ensure the job is done safety and correctly.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Other Attributes

• This position will require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules for extended periods of time.
• Must be willing to work overtime when required.
• Must be capable of working with minimal or no supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Three years’ experience as an Engineering Technician or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronics Technology, or Military training certifications in Depot level electronic maintenance and repair with demonstrated knowledge. High school diploma with demonstrated knowledge, and three years’ experience. Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a technical competency test. Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. Possess a valid driver’s license. Must be a United States Citizen. This position will require the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance at our client’s location and their customer program access.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be capable maintaining physical condition to regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Must be capable of regularly climbing extension ladders, tower ladders, stepladders and stairs. Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitively. Requires the ability to regularly kneel. Requires the ability to repetitively stretch or reach horizontal or vertically. Must be capable to walk extensively. Must be capable of differentiating colors pertaining to wire color coding. Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
