A well-established professional services organization is seeking a part-time Garnishment Assistant to support a growing legal operations team. This role offers hands-on exposure to garnishment processes and collaboration with legal professionals, clients, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable handling sensitive information in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, enter, and maintain new garnishment case information within internal databases
  • Prepare and process responses for no-asset cases, including drafting documentation and uploading records into a document management system
  • Electronically file and distribute case-related documents to appropriate parties
  • Scan, review, approve, and organize case files within the document management platform
  • Handle inbound calls from customers, external counsel, and court representatives in a professional manner
  • Assist with administrative support tasks, including updating case data and tracking documentation
  • Maintain an on-site presence to support team collaboration and prepare documents for court submission
  • Receive, sort, and distribute departmental mail related to garnishment matters

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 1–3 years of experience in collections, garnishments, or a related administrative/legal role preferred
  • Prior experience in a legal or professional services environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., NetDocuments or similar platforms)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
